Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement (Sedan with AHE)

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning . WARNING: Do not repair or replace the seat stitching or seams in the seat back trim cover with an internal mounted seat side airbag module. Replace the complete seat back trim cover from the OEM. Non-OEM seat stitching may cause improper airbag deployment which could result in personal injury. Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation . Remove the driver or passenger head restraint. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Replacement (without W2E) . Remove the driver or passenger seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement . Remove the driver or passenger seat back cushion finish panel. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (with AHE) . Remove the driver or passenger seat cushion outer finish panel. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Outer Finish Panel Replacement (Sedan) .
1	Seat Back Cushion Assembly Procedure Disengage the J-channel retainers that route the seat back cover over the airbag module and attach to the airbag module bracket. Disengage the retainer near the airbag module. Remove the airbag module nuts (2). Note the airbag module and harness routing for re-installation. Disengage the J-channel retainers that route the seat back cover under the airbag module and attach it to the seat back frame. Note routing of the cover for re-installation. The airbag module should be mounted through the holes in the seat back cover panel. Remove the inflatable restraint module from the seat cover pocket. Disconnect electrical connectors, if equipped.
2	Driver or Passenger Seat Side Inflatable Restraint Module Nut (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 3.5 N.m (31 lb in)
3	Front Seat Back Cushion Heater, If Equipped
4	Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Procedure Separate the seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad by removing all hog rings and pulling the cover away from the pad.
