Preliminary Procedures Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Drain the transmission, refill when repair is completed. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill . Remove the radiator air lower baffle and deflector assembly. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement . Remove the front transmission mount and bracket. Refer to Transmission Front Mount Replacement . Remove the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement . Perform the service programming system procedure. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
1	Input Speed Sensor (ISS) Wire Harness Procedure Attach the DT-47734 tether to the ISS electrical connector locking tab before removal of old ISS to assist in installation of the new ISS. Special Tools DT-47734 Speed Sensor Harness Tether
2	Input Speed Sensor Bolt M6 x 25 CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the input speed sensor bolt. Tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
3	Input Speed Sensor TIP: After an internal transmission repair or internal part replacement the service programming system procedure should be performed.
