Intermittent Brake Light

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Chevrolet S10 Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  before performing trouble shooting procedure.
  1. Turn ignition on. If BRAKE light comes on and stays on, go to BRAKE LIGHT ON . If BRAKE light does not come on, check for stored trouble codes. See RETRIEVING CODES . If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, go to next step. If no DTCs are present, go to BRAKE LIGHT ON step 5).
  2. If DTCs 5, 13, 14, or 15 are present, go to appropriate DTC under TROUBLE CODES . If DTCs 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 are present, go to appropriate DTC under TROUBLE CODES, then go to BRAKE LIGHT OFF  under SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS. This is due to a dual fault in the RWAL system.
