Pinpoint Test As: P2533:62

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC	Description	Fault Trigger Condition
SOBDMC P2533:62	Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit: Signal Compare Failure	This DTC sets when the module is unable to shut off during key-off.

Possible Sources

Wiring, terminals or connectors
BCM issue

AS1 CHECK THE BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM

Check the 12 volt battery and charging system voltages. Refer to Charging System - Overview .

Are the battery and charging system voltages within specification?

Yes

GO to AS2

No	REPAIR as necessary. Refer to Charging System - Overview . CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

AS2 CHECK THE ISP-R VPWR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect BCMC C1035B .

Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A .

Measure and record:

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

GO to AS3

No	REPAIR the open circuit.

AS3 CHECK THE ISP-R CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

Ignition ON.

Measure and record:

Positive Lead	Measurement / Action	Negative Lead

Is any voltage present?

Yes	REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test.

GO to AS4

AS4 RECHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) P2533:62

Ignition OFF.

Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

Reconnect the BCMC connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

Reconnect the Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

Ignition ON.

Ignition OFF.

Wait two minutes.

Ignition ON.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC).

Ignition OFF.

Start the engine.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-tests.

Is DTC P2533:62 present?

Yes	Refer to Electric Motor . Pinpoint Test Z.

No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
