DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition SOBDMC P0C5F:00 Drive Motor "B" Position Sensor Circuit "B": No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when an open circuit is detected in the generator resolver circuit. SOBDMC P0C61:00 Drive Motor "B" Position Sensor Circuit "B" Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when a short to ground is detected in the generator resolver circuit. SOBDMC P0C62:00 Drive Motor "B" Position Sensor Circuit "B" High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when a short to power is detected in the generator resolver circuit. SOBDMC P0C6B:00 Generator Position Sensor Circuit "B" Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when a short to ground is detected in the generator resolver circuit. SOBDMC P0C6C:00 Generator Position Sensor Circuit "B" High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when a short to power is detected in the generator resolver circuit. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- AJ1 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CALIBRATION LEVEL
- Verify the Inverter System Controller (ISC) is at the latest calibration level.
Is the Inverter System Controller (ISC) at the latest calibration level?
Yes GO to AJ2 No UPDATE the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to the latest calibration level. - AJ2 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.
Was DTC P0C5F, P0C61, P0C62, P0C6B or P0C6C read from the Inverter System Controller (ISC)?
Yes GO to AJ3 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AJ3 VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEM
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove the high voltage traction battery service disconnect plug.
- Visually inspect all the low voltage cables.
- Make sure all the low voltage connectors are correctly and securely connected.
- Examine all the low voltage cables and connectors for damaged, burned or overheated insulation and loose or broken connections.
Is a concern present?
Yes REPAIR as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ4 - AJ4 CHECK THE MS2 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Transmission Sensor Speed Resolver C1280 .
- Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A .
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1458A-A2 C1280-1
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ5 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ5 CHECK THE MS4 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure and record:

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ6 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - Measure and record:
- AJ6 CHECK THE MS2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ7 - AJ7 CHECK THE MS4 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ8 - AJ8 CHECK THE MS2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance greater than 10K ohms?
Yes GO to AJ9 No REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ9 CHECK THE MS4 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance greater than 10K ohms?
Yes GO to AJ10 No REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ10 CHECK THE MR1 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure and record:

- AJ12 CHECK THE MR1 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ13 - AJ13 CHECK THE MR2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ14 - AJ14 CHECK THE MR1 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ15 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ15 CHECK THE MR2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ19 - AJ19 CHECK THE MS3 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AJ20 - AJ20 CHECK THE MS1 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ21 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ21 CHECK THE MS3 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ22 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AJ22 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUITS FOR SHORTED TOGETHER

Yes GO to AJ23 No REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - Measure and record:
- AJ23 CHECK THE MR1 AND MR2 RESOLVER RESISTANCE
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1280 pin 3, component side C1280 pin 4, component side
Is the resistance between 8 and 18 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ24 No INSTALL a new electric motor. Refer to Hybrid Drive Unit . - Measure and record:
- AJ24 CHECK THE MS1 AND MS3 RESOLVER RESISTANCE
- Measure and record:

Is the resistance between 32 and 42 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ25 No INSTALL a new electric motor. Refer to Hybrid Drive Unit . - Measure and record:
- AJ25 CHECK THE MS2 AND MS4 RESOLVER RESISTANCE
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1280 pin 1, component side C1280 pin 5, component side
Is the resistance between 27 and 37 ohms?
Yes GO to AJ26 No INSTALL a new electric motor. Refer to Hybrid Drive Unit . - Measure and record:
- AJ26 CHECK FOR CORRECT INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Inspect all Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect all of the previously disconnected connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
Is DTC P0C5F, P0C61, P0C62, P0C6B or P0C6C present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern. Refer to Electric Motor . Pinpoint Test Z. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
