Pinpoint Test B: SELECTSHIFT™ (6F35 Transmission)

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The SelectShift™ switch is a toggle switch integral to the selector lever knob. When the selector lever is placed in the M position, the upshift/downshift feature becomes activated. If a new switch is required install a new selector lever knob.
Possible Sources
- Connectors damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals
- SelectShift™ switch
- PCM
- B1 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect For the 2.5L engine, PCM C175B.
- Disconnect Selector Lever C2096.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2096-5 C175B-23 C2096-6 C175B-22 C2096-4 C175B-30
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to B2 No REPAIR the circuit. - B2 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2096-5 Ground C2096-6 Ground C2096-4 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to B3 No REPAIR the circuit. - Measure:
- B3 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ SWITCH UPSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Connect Selector Lever C2096.
Is the resistance less than 1.5 ohms with upshift selected and greater than 10, 000 ohms when released?
Yes GO to B4 No REFER to: Selector Lever Assembly . - B4 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ SWITCH DOWNSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
Is the resistance less than 1.5 ohms with downshift selected and greater than 10, 000 ohms when released?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSB. If a TSB exists for this concern, discontinue this test and follow the TSB instructions. If no TSB address this concern, refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No REFER to: Selector Lever Assembly .
