DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition BCM B15E4:24 Right Power Running Board Kick Switch: Signal Stuck High Right Power Running Board Kick Switch Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- RHPRB motor
- DSM
Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- RHPRB motor harness connections and wiring.
- NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may cause damage to the connector.
- H1 CHECK FOR RH (RIGHT-HAND) PRB (POWER RUNNING BOARD) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Connect the diagnostic tool. Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for the RHPRB.
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Kick switch and related in-line connectors.
- Ignition ON.
CLEAN and INSPECT as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. No GO to H2 - H2 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) KICK SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Right PRB KICK SWITCH C3186B.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds so any PRB movement commands are complete.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to H3 - H3 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) KICK SWITCH CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3186B-1 Ground
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 Ohms?
Yes GO to H4 No REPAIR the circuit. - H4 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) KICK SWITCH CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect DSM C341E.
Are the resistances less than 3 Ohms?
Yes REPLACE the RH kick switch. No REPAIR the circuit.
