Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The TCCM supplies the RHIWE position sensor 5V and ground.
The RHIWE position sensor is diagnosed for valid current thresholds which indicate mechanical RHIWE positions.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition TCCM C06A4:16 Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "B" Position: Circuit Voltage Below Threshold The TCCM detected invalid low current from RHIWE position sensor (pin 18). TCCM C06A4:17 Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "B" Position: Circuit Voltage Above Threshold The TCCM detected invalid high current from RHIWE position sensor (pin 18). TCCM C06A4:1C Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "B" Position: Circuit Voltage Out Of Range The TCCM detected invalid current from RHIWE position sensor (pin 18). Possible Sources
- RHIWE position sensor circuits open
- RHIWE position sensor circuits short to ground
- RHIWE position sensor circuits short to voltage
- RHIWE
- L1 CHECK RH (RIGHT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR OPEN
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect RHIWE C1291.
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to L2 No REPAIR the open circuit. - L2 CHECK RH (RIGHT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect RHIWE C1291.
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to L3 No REPAIR the short to ground. - L3 CHECK RH (RIGHT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect RHIWE C1291.
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short to voltage. No INSTALL a new RHIWE. REFER to: Integrated Wheel End (IWE) .
