Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The TCCM supplies the LHIWE position sensor 5V and ground.
The LHIWE position sensor is diagnosed for valid current thresholds which indicate mechanical LHIWE positions.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition TCCM C06A3:16 Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "A" Position: Circuit Voltage Below Threshold The TCCM detected invalid low current from LHIWE position sensor at pin 14. TCCM C06A3:17 Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "A" Position: Circuit Voltage Above Threshold The TCCM detected invalid high current from LHIWE at pin 14. TCCM C06A3:1C Wheel Hub Disconnect Motor "A" Position: Circuit Voltage Out Of Range The PWMTCCM detected an invalid current on the LHIWE position sensor (pin 14). Possible Sources
- LHIWE position sensor circuits open
- LHIWE position sensor circuits short to ground
- LHIWE position sensor circuits short to voltage
- LHIWE
- K1 CHECK LH (LEFT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR OPEN
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect LHIWE C1157.
Is the resistance on each less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to K2 No REPAIR the open circuit. - K2 CHECK LH (LEFT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect LHIWE C1157.
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to K3 No REPAIR the short to ground. - K3 CHECK LH (LEFT-HAND) IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL END) POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect TCCM C2371A.
- Disconnect LHIWE C1157.
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short to voltage. No INSTALL a new LHIWE. REFER to: Integrated Wheel End (IWE) .
