Pinpoint Test D : DTC U300D:11

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Refer to TWO WHEEL DRIVE/FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEMS for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The TCCM receives ignition switch position status from the hardwired run/start input circuit and the ignition switch position status message communicated by the BCM over the HS-CAN.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
TCCM U300D:11 Ignition Input On/Start: Circuit Short To Ground The TCCM detected 0 volts at C2371A-7 when the BCM broadcast a Key Position of RUN or START data massage over the HS-CAN.

    Possible Sources

    • TCCM Ignition switch circuit short to ground
    • TCCM Ignition switch open circuit
    • TCCM
    • BCM fault

  2. D1 CHECK THE TCCM IGNITION SWITCH (IGN_SW) PID

    • Access the TCCM and monitor the IGN_SW PID

Does the ignition switch PID match the ignition switch positions?

    Yes  GO to  D5
    No  GO to  D2
  3. D2 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH INPUT TO THE TCCM (TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE)

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect TCCM C2371A.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is battery voltage present?

    Yes  GO to  D6
    No  GO to  D3
  4. D3 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH INPUT FOR SHORT TO GROUND

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect BJB C1035B.

    • Disconnect TCCM C2371A.

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C2371A-7

      C

Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?

    Yes  GO to  D4
No  REPAIR the short to ground. INSTALL new fuse as necessary.
  5. D4 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH INPUT FOR OPEN

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect BJB C1035B.

    • Disconnect TCCM C2371A.

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1035B-13

      C2371A-7

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms

Yes  Verify fuse is intact. Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION for schematic and connector information.
    No  REPAIR the open circuit.
  6. D5 CHECK FOR BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE)

    • Enter the following diagnostic mode: BCM On-Demand and CM DTC self-test..

    Are any DTC present?

Yes  RESOLVE all BCM DTC. REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
    No  GO to  D6
  7. D6 VERIFY TCCM (TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

    • DISCONNECT and INSPECT the TCCM connectors.

    • Repair:

      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins).
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins.
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary.

    • Connect all connectors. Make sure each connector seats and latches correctly.

    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSB. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSB address this concern, INSTALL a new TCCM. REFER to: Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) .
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module or network connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
