Pinpoint Test W: The Transfer Case Makes Noise

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    Using the diagnostic equipment, isolate noise to the transfer case.

    CHECK that the transfer case is filled to the correct level and with the specified fluid. REFER to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling .

    If fluid level is OK, INSTALL a NEW Transfer Case. REFER to: Transfer Case - Removal and Transfer Case - Installation .

    Possible Sources 

    • Internal components
    • Fluid level
