DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition AWD C0691:14 4WD/AWD Disconnect Clutch Actuator Position Sensor "A": Circuit Short To Ground Or Open The DTC will set when the AWD module detects a short to ground or an open circuit to the Front Axle Disconnect Actuator. AWD C0692:14 4WD/AWD Disconnect Clutch Actuator Position Sensor "B": Circuit Short To Ground Or Open The DTC will set when the AWD module detects a short to ground or an open circuit to the Front Axle Disconnect Actuator. AWD P0641:1C Sensor Reference Voltage "A" Circuit/Open: Circuit Voltage Out Of Range The DTC will set when the AWD module detects voltage that is out of range to the Front Axle Disconnect Actuator. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Front Axle Disconnect Actuator
- AWD module
- G1 CHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) C0691:14, C0692:14 OR P0641:1C
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the AWD module self-test.
Is DTC C0691:14, C0692:14 or P0641:1C present?
Yes GO to G2 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - G2 CHECK THE FRONT AXLE DISCONNECT ACTUATOR POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect AWD module C2371.
- Disconnect Front Axle Disconnect Actuator C1292.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2371-7 Ground C2371-20 Ground C2371-6 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to G3 No REPAIR the circuit. - G3 CHECK THE FRONT AXLE DISCONNECT ACTUATOR POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN.
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2371-7 C1292-4 C2371-20 C1292-5 C2371-6 C1292-6
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new AWD module. RETEST the system. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new Front Axle Disconnect Actuator. REFER to: Front Axle Disconnect Actuator . No REPAIR the circuit.
