Pinpoint Test K: The Camera System Does Not Respond When The Front Parking Aid Camera View Switch Is Pressed

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition HVAC B12BD:9E Rear Camera: Stuck On A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the HVAC module when the camera selection switch is depressed for more that 120 seconds. HVAC B148E:9E Front Camera: Stuck On A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the HVAC module when the camera selection switch is depressed for more that 120 seconds. Possible Sources
- Communication network concern
- TR input concern
- Vehicle speed input concern
- Front parking aid camera view switch (inputs to the HVAC module)
- HVAC module
- IPMB
Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Inspect the front parking aid camera view switch to verify that the switch is not damaged or stuck in the pressed position.
- K1 CHECK FOR CORRECT GEAR INPUT AT THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER)
- Ignition ON.
- While monitoring the IPC PRNDL indicator, briefly select each gear in the entire range.
Does the IPC PRNDL indicator match the actual gear selection?
Yes GO to K2 No REFER to: Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes - K2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SPEEDOMETER OPERATION
- Verify the operation of the speedometer.
Does the speedometer operate correctly?
Yes GO to K3 No REFER to: Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes - K3 PERFORM A NETWORK TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.
Do all modules pass the network test?
Yes GO to K4 No REFER to: Ethernet Module Communications Network - K4 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPMB (IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE B) SELF-TEST
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPMB self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) retrieved?
Yes REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . No GO to K5 - K5 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE HVAC (HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING) MODULE SELF-TEST
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the HVAC module self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) retrieved?
Yes For B12BD:9E or B148E:9E, GO to K6 For all other HVAC module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to: Climate Control System No GO to K9 - K6 CHECK THE CAMERA SELECTION SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect Integrated Control Panel C2009.
- Disconnect HVAC module C228B.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2009-6 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to K7 - K7 CHECK THE CAMERA SELECTION SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE CAMERA SELECTION SWITCH AND THE HVAC (HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING) MODULE
- Ignition OFF.
Is resistance less than 3 ohms '
Yes GO to K8 No REPAIR the circuit. - K8 CHECK THE CAMERA SELECTION SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2009-6 Ground
Is the resistance less that 10, 000 ohms?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No INSTALL a new Integrated Control Panel. If the concern is still present after the Integrated Control Panel replacement, GO to K9 - Measure:
- K9 CHECK FOR CORRECT HVAC (HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING) MODULE OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the HVAC module connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the HVAC connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, INSTALL a new HVAC module. REFER to: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Control Module . If the concern is still present after the HVAC module replacement, GO to K10 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - K10 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPMB (IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE B) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the IPMB connectors and related in-line connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the IPMB connectors and related in-line connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new IPMB. REFER to: Image Processing Module B (IPMB) No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
