Pinpoint Test M : All Door Locks Are Inoperative From One Door Lock Control Switch

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition BCM B126A:01 Drivers Door Interior Lock Switch: General Electrical Failure Sets during an on-demand self-test if the BCM is receiving a lock or unlock request. DDM B108F:23 Cabin Lock/Unlock Switch: Signal Stuck Low Set by the DDM when a short to ground is detected from one of the door lock control switch input circuits. PDM B108F:23 Cabin Lock/Unlock Switch: Signal Stuck Low Set by the PDM when a short to ground is detected from one of the door lock control switch input circuits. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Door lock control switch
- BCM (without passenger door one-touch windows)
- DDM (with passenger door one-touch windows)
- PDM (with passenger door one-touch windows)
Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Check the door lock control switch for damage.
- NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
- M1 BYPASS THE SUSPECT DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Suspect door lock control switch.
- Lock the doors using the working door lock control switch.
- For a concern with the LHF door lock control switch, connect:
Lead 1 Measurement / Action Lead 2 C541-4 C541-3
- For a concern with the RHF door lock control switch, connect:
Lead 1 Measurement / Action Lead 2 C632-2 C632-3
- For a concern with the rear passenger door lock control switch (if equipped), connect:
Lead 1 Measurement / Action Lead 2 C3813-2 C541-1
- Remove the fused jumper wire.
Do the doors unlock?
Yes INSTALL a new door lock control switch. REFER to: Front Door Lock Control Switch . No * For vehicles without passenger door one-touch windows, GO to M2 .
* For vehicles with passenger door one-touch windows, GO to M3 . - M2 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN FOR VEHICLES WITHOUT PASSENGER DOOR ONE-TOUCH WINDOWS
- Disconnect: BCM C2280F.
- For a concern with the LHF door lock control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C541-3 Ground
- For a concern with the RHF door lock control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C632-3 Ground
- For a concern with the rear passenger door lock control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3813-1 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to M6 No REPAIR the circuit. - M3 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN FOR VEHICLES WITH PASSENGER DOOR ONE-TOUCH WINDOWS
- Disconnect: DDM C501A for vehicles with a driver or rear passenger door lock control switch (if equipped) concern.
- Disconnect: PDM C652A for vehicles with a passenger door lock control switch concern.
- For the LHF door lock control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C541-3 C501A-17
- For the RHF door lock control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C632-3 C652A-17
- For the rear passenger door lock control switch (if equipped), measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3813-1 C501A-17
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes For a concern with the driver or rear passenger (if equipped) door lock control switch, GO to M4 For a concern with the passenger door lock control switch, GO to M5 No REPAIR the circuit. - M4 CHECK FOR CORRECT DDM (DRIVER DOOR MODULE) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the DDM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the DDM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new DDM. REFER to: Driver Door Module (DDM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - M5 CHECK FOR CORRECT PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the PDM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PDM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PDM. REFER to: Passenger Door Module (PDM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - M6 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals)
- Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins)
- Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary)
- Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, Refer to BCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
