Pinpoint Test Ax : The Ignition-Engine On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

- AX1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to AX2 No GO to Pinpoint Test BC - AX2 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR INDICATION
- Open the driver door.
- Observe the door ajar warning indicator or door ajar warning indicator.
Does the door ajar warning indicator or door ajar warning indicator turn on with the driver door ajar?
Yes GO to AX3 No GO to Pinpoint Test R - AX3 CHECK THE PRNDL OPERATION
- Shift the transmission through the ranges while observing the PRNDL indication.
Does the PRNDL indication match the selected transmission range?
Yes GO to AX4 No GO to Pinpoint Test AB - AX4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) No GO to AX5 - AX5 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCMKOEO self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS (1.0L) or refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS (2.0L) No GO to AX6 - AX6 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes No Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING
