Pinpoint Test AP : The Upshift/Downshift RTT (RECONFIGURABLE Telltale) Indicator Is Never On

If the manual gear shift indicator message is missing or deemed invalid by the IPC for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the upshift/downshift RTT indicator to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.
If the manual gear shift indicator message is missing or if the data is deemed invalid by the IPC for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the upshift/downshift RTT indicator off.

- PCM concern
- GWM concern
- IPC
- AP1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the compass and outside air temperature displays in the message center.
Do the compass and outside air temperature displays operate?
Yes GO to AP2 No GO to Pinpoint Test A - AP2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) No GO to AP3 - AP3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS (1.0L) or refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS (2.0L) No GO to AP4 - AP4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
