Pinpoint Test D : DTC C113A:11 Or C113A:15
- D1 RETRIEVE THE BCM DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Is DTC C113A:11 recorded?
Yes GO to D2. No GO to D5. - D2 CHECK THE PCM FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear BCM CMDTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: PATS Transceiver C252 (for vehicles without IA only).
- Disconnect: PCM C1381B (2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI).
- Disconnect: PCM C175B (3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT).
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Was DTC C113A:11 retrieved on-demand during self-test?
Yes GO to D6. No GO to D7. - D3 CHECK THE WAKE UP CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280F.
- For 2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI engine, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C1381B-14 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
- For 3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT engine, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C175B-65 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to D8. No REPAIR the circuit. - D4 CHECK THE BCM FOR DTCs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear BCM CMDTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Connect: PCM C1381B (2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI).
- Connect: PCM C175B (3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT).
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Was DTC C113A:11 retrieved on-demand during self-test?
Yes GO to D8. No For vehicles without IA, INSTALL a new PATS transceiver. Refer to Anti-Theft - Perimeter .
For vehicles with IA, the system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - D5 CHECK THE WAKE UP CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: PATS Transceiver C252 (for vehicles without IA only).
- Disconnect: BCM C2280F.
- Disconnect: PCM C1381B (2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI).
- Disconnect: PCM C175B (3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT).
- Ignition ON.
- For 2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI engine, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C1381B-28 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
- For 3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT engine measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C175B-65 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to D3. - D6 CHECK THE WAKE UP CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- For 2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI engine, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C1381B-14 CE436 (VT/OG) C2280F-5 CE436 (VT/OG)
- For 3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT engine, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C175B-65 CE436 (VT/OG) C2280F-5 CE436 (VT/OG)
- For vehicles without IA, measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C252-1 CE436 (VT/OG) C2280F-5 CE436 (VT/OG)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to D4. No REPAIR the circuit for an open. - D7 CHECK THE BCM AND PCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Connect: BCM C2280F.
- Ignition ON.
- For 2.0L GTDI or 3.5L GTDI engine, while holding the key in the START position, measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C1381B-14 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
- For 3.5L Ti-VCT or 3.7L Ti-VCT engine, while holding the key in the START position, measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C175B-65 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
- For vehicles without IA, measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C252-1 CE436 (VT/OG) Ground Ground
Are the voltages greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to D9. No VERIFY BCM fuse 18 (10A) is OK. If OK, GO to D8. If not OK, REFER to OEM Electrical Wiring Diagram Introduction to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. - D8 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect all the BCM connectors.
- Repair
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the BCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSB addresses this concern, Refer to BCM Guided Routine Testing . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - D9 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect all the PCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSB address this concern, Refer to PCM Guided Routine Testing . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
