Condition Possible Sources Actions
The message center is not operating correctly Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AG 
The message center display is blank Refer to the Pinpoint Test VERIFY the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly.
If the IPC gauges and indicators are not functioning correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test A 
If the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly, Refer to IPC HARDWARE TESTING .
The compass is inoperative (except touchscreen) Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AH 
The compass is inoperative (touchscreen) Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AI 
The digital speedometer is incorrect or never displayed Message center concern
Speedometer concern
VERIFY the message center displays (trip computer) function correctly.
If the message center displays do not function correctly, Refer to IPC HARDWARE TESTING .
If the message center displays function correctly, diagnose the speedometer. GO to Pinpoint Test E GO to Pinpoint Test F 
The DTE display is incorrect or fluctuates Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AJ 
The cruise control RTT indicator is never on Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AK 
The AWD message is never or always displayed Message center concern
AWD concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning does not function correctly, Refer to IPC HARDWARE TESTING .
If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, diagnose the AWD system. Refer to: Four-Wheel Drive Systems .
An auto stop-start message is never displayed (1.5L or 2.0L only) Message center concern
Auto stop-start concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, DIAGNOSE the auto-stop start indicator. GO to Pinpoint Test N 
A brake warning (brake fluid level low, parking brake applied or brake system malfunction) message is never or always displayed Message center concern

OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test P  (never on) or GO to Pinpoint Test Q  (always on).
The charging system warning is never or always displayed Message center concern
Charging system indication concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST W  to diagnose the charging system warning indicator.
The door ajar message display is never or always on Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
The engine oil change due message is never displayed Message center concern
The PCM has not reached the programmed mileage based on the criteria required to display the message.
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, the vehicle has not met the criteria required to display the message since the last oil life reset. EXPLAIN the oil minder function to the customer. REFER to Oil Change Minder. Refer to: Message Center - System Operation and Component Description .
The engine oil change due message is always displayed The oil life needs reset CARRY OUT the oil life reset procedure. Refer to:Reset the Oil Change Indicator .
The engine over-temperature warning is never or always displayed PCM concern
IPC
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the door ajar message center warning functions correctly.
If the door ajar message center warning does not function correctly, Refer to IPC HARDWARE TESTING .
If the door ajar message center warning functions correctly, diagnose the temperature gauge. GO to Pinpoint Test J GO to Pinpoint Test K 
An exterior lighting bulb outage message is always displayed Message center concern

OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, Refer to: Parking, Rear and License Plate Lamps .
The factory mode message is always displayed Vehicle still in factory mode CARRY OUT the procedure to disable the factory mode and PLACE the vehicle in normal operation mode. Refer to: Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation .
A forward collision warning message is always displayed Forward collision concern DIAGNOSE the forward collision warning system. Refer to: Collision Warning and Collision Avoidance System .
A hill start assist display is never on Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AM 
The lane keeping alert warning message is never or always displayed Message center concern
Lane keeping alert chime concern
IPC
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, DIAGNOSE the lane keeping alert chime. GO to Pinpoint Test BB 
The low washer fluid level message is never or always displayed Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AN 
The outside air temperature display is inoperative or incorrect Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AO 
The parking aid malfunction message is always displayed Parking aid system concern DIAGNOSE the parking aid system. Refer to the appropriate Instrumentation and Warning Systems article.
A passive key status (no key detected, key inside vehicle, key not inside vehicle or place key in keyholder) message is inoperative or always displayed (passive entry only) Message center concern

OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL .
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, with one-touch down driver window, Refer to: Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Vehicles With: One-Touch Open Driver Window . With one-touch down and up front windows, REFER to: Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Vehicles With: One-Touch Open Driver Window .
The reverse parking aid, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®)/Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) menu display is not available (parking aid and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®)/Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) cannot be disabled A MyKey is in use The system is operating correctly. To display the reverse parking aid menu, an administrator key must be used.
The shift to park display is never displayed Parking aid system concern GO to Pinpoint Test AP 
The stability-traction control malfunction warning is never or always displayed Message center concern

OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AD 
The stability-traction control disabled warning is never displayed Message center concern
Stability-traction control disable indication concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AE 
A steering malfunction message is always displayed Message center concern
EPAS system concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, Refer to: Power Steering .
A TPMS malfunction message is never or always displayed Message center concern
TPMS warning indication concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, DIAGNOSE he TPMS warning indicator. GO to Pinpoint Test AF 
A tire training message (train left front, right front, left rear or right rear tire) message is never displayed TPMS warning indicator concern
TPMS sensor training concern
NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure.
VERIFY the TPMS warning indicator functions.If the TPMS warning indicator does not operate, GO to Pinpoint Test AF If the TPMS warning indicator operates, CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. Refer to: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) .
The training complete message is never displayed TPMS sensor training incomplete
NOTE: This message only appears during the TPMS sensor training procedure.
CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. Refer to: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Location Calibration .
The tires not trained message is always displayed TPMS sensor training concern
NOTE: This message only appears during the TPMS sensor training procedure.
CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. Refer to: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Location Calibration .
A transmission malfunction display is always on Refer to the Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test AQ 
The transport mode message is always displayed Vehicle still in transport mode CARRY OUT the procedure to disable the transport mode and PLACE the vehicle in normal operation mode. Refer to: Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation .
A vehicle starting/ignition status (press brake to start or switch ignition off press power) message is inoperative or always displayed (push button start only) Message center concern
Push button start concern
OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed and the vehicle functions in all ignition modes.
If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to Pinpoint Test AL 
If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, Refer to: Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components .
