Fuel Rail: Installation

- 1.
Install the fuel rail. Install the wire harness bracket, then install and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts.Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)
- 3.NOTE: Make sure that a new fuel rail supply tube is installed.NOTE: Use a back-up wrench on the fuel rail supply tube fittings.
Install the new fuel rail supply tube. Tighten the fuel rail supply tube flare nuts and the fuel rail supply tube mounting bolts finger tight at this stage.
- 4.NOTE: Make sure that new fuel injector supply tubes are installed.
Install the new fuel injector supply tube flare nuts finger tight at this stage. Attach the fuel injector fuel return line retainer to the fuel rail.
- 5.NOTE: Use a back-up wrench on the fuel injector supply tube fittings.

Tighten the fuel rail supply tube flare nuts at the fuel injection pump and at the fuel rail. Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel rail.Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- 2.
Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel injectors.Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- 3.
Loosen the fuel rail mounting bolts.Torque: 720°
- 4.
Tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts.Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- 5.
Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel injectors.Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- 6.
Tighten the fuel rail supply tube flare nuts at the fuel injection pump and at the fuel rail. Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel rail.Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Tighten the fuel rail supply tube mounting bolts.Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Vehicles With: Dual Batteries .
- 7.
Bleed the Fuel System. Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .
- 8.
Remove the oil filler cap. Install the engine appearance cover, position the hose back and install the oil filler cap.
