Fuel System Bleeding

Bleeding 

• 1.
  
  
  NOTE: It may require several attempts of this step before the engine will start. If the engine will not start proceed to steps  7- 9.

  Turn the ignition key to the ON position. Wait 30 seconds and attempt to start the engine.

• 2.
  
  If the engine starts hold at 1500 rpm.

• 3.
  
  Wait for 20 seconds.

• 4.
  
  If the engine is running smoothly, reduce the rpm to idle speed.

• 5.
  
  Check for fuel leaks.

• 6.
  
  Turn the engine off.

• 7.
  
  
  NOTE: It is only necessary to follow steps 7- 9 if the engine does not start after following steps  1- 6.

  Remove the Schrader valve cap.

  • Install a suitable drain hose.
  • Turn the key to the ON position and drain into a suitable container until a clean stream of diesel fuel exists.

  Turn the key to the OFF position, remove the hose and start the vehicle.
