Fuel Metering Valve: Installation

Inspect the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve O-ring seals. Replace the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve O-ring seals as necessary. Lubricate the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve O-ring seals with clean engine oil.Material: Motorcraft® SAE 5W-40 Full Synthetic Diesel Motor Oil / XO-5W40-5Q3SD (WSS-M2C171-F1)

Inspect the fuel injection pump temperature sensor O-ring seals. Replace the fuel injection pump temperature sensor O-ring seals as necessary. Lubricate the fuel injection pump temperature sensor O-ring seals with clean engine oil.Material: Motorcraft® SAE 5W-40 Full Synthetic Diesel Motor Oil / XO-5W40-5Q3SD (WSS-M2C171-F1)

Install the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve.
- 2.
Install the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve bolts.Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Install the fuel injection pump temperature sensor.
- 4.
Install the fuel injection pump temperature sensor mounting bolt.Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Connect the fuel injection pump temperature sensor and the fuel injection pump fuel metering valve electrical connectors.
- 5.
Install the throttle body. Refer to: Throttle Body .
- 6.
Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Vehicles With: Dual Batteries .
- 7.
Bleed the Fuel System. Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .
