Pinpoint Test B : B129C:14, B129D:14
- B1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Parking Aid Module (PAM) self-test.
Are multiple parking aid sensor Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes GO to B2 No For DTC B129C:14 or B129D:14, GO to B3For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to the Parking Aid Module (PAM) DTC Chart.REFER to: Parking Aid . - B2 CHECK THE FRONT BUMPER WIRING HARNESS
- Inspect the front bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds, or corrosion.
Is the front bumper wiring harness OK?
Yes GO to B3 No REPAIR or INSTALL a new front bumper wiring harness. - B3 CHECK THE SENSOR CIRCUITRY FOR OPENS
- Ignition OFF.
- For DTC B129C:14, Disconnect: LH Active Park Assist Sensor.
- For DTC B129D:14, Disconnect: RH Active Park Assist Sensor.
- Disconnect: Parking Aid Module (PAM) C4014B.
- For DTC B129C:14, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4014B-2 C1607-1 C4014B-9 C1607-2 C4014B-1 C1607-3
- For DTC B129D:14, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4014B-2 C1608-1 C4014B-10 C1608-2 C4014B-1 C1608-3
Are the resistances of the suspect sensor circuits less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to B4 No REPAIR the circuit in question. - B4 CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK ASSIST SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR SHORTS TO GROUND
- For DTC B129C:14, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1607-2 Ground
- For DTC B129D:14, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1608-2 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms for the sensor circuit in question?
Yes If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are recorded for both active park assist sensors, GO to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . No REPAIR the circuit in question. - For DTC B129C:14, measure:
- B5 CHECK FOR CORRECT PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all Parking Aid Module (PAM) connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the Parking Aid Module (PAM) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new Parking Aid Module (PAM).REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
