    Is an observable symptom present?

    • Yes  : GO to AU2
    • No  : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC  may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. AU2 CHECK FOR ANY RECENT PMI (PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION) CHANGES
    • Check the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the IPC  or the RFA  module.

Have there been any recent service actions with either module?

    • Yes  : CARRY out a manual PMI  on the applicable module using As-Built data.
    • No  : GO to AU3
  3. AU3 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.

Does the RFA module pass the network test?

  4. AU4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

  5. AU5 PERFORM THE RFA (REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR) MODULE SELF-TEST
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the RFA  module self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

  6. AU6 RECHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC  being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the PMI  or the PMI  may not have been carried out.
    • Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

    Is DTC U0214:87 still present?

    • Yes  : GO to AU7

    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the RFA  module connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

    • Yes  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB  exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB  instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new RFA  module.
