Pinpoint Test Ax: U3006:17
- AX1 CHECK FOR OVERCHARGING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) SET IN THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) AND OTHER MODULES
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test.
- Retrieve the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs) from all modules.
Are overcharging Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set in more than one module?
- Yes
: For 1.6L GTDI engine,
REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM - 1.6L ECOBOOST (132KW/180PS) - SIGMA .
For 1.6L TiVCT engine,
REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM - 1.6L DURATEC-16V TI-VCT (88KW/120PS) - SIGMA .
- No : GO to AX2
- AX2 CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE
- Turn off all interior/exterior lights and accessories.
- Start and run the engine at approximately 2, 000 rpm for 3 minutes while monitoring the battery voltage.
Does the battery voltage rise to 15.5 volts or higher?
- Yes
: For 1.6L GTDI engine,
REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM - 1.6L ECOBOOST (132KW/180PS) - SIGMA
For 1.6L TiVCT engine,
REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM - 1.6L DURATEC-16V TI-VCT (88KW/120PS) - SIGMA .
- No : GO to AX3
- AX3 RECHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U3006:17
- Turn the engine off.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
- Carry out the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3006:17 present?
- Yes
: INSTALL a new IPC
.
REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle.
