SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Actions
A module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool

All dimmable illumination (networked and non-networked sources) does not dim or increase brightness Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST A 
The start/stop switch illumination is inoperative or always on Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST E 
The LH  front window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on (with one-touch down driver window) Window control switch
The RH  front, RH  rear or LH  rear window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on (with one-touch down driver window) Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST G 
The LH  front window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on (with one-touch up and down front windows) Window control switch
The RH  front, RH  rear or LH  rear window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on (with one-touch up and down front windows) Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST D 
One or more non-networked illumination source are inoperative Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST B 
One or more non-networked illumination source is always on Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST H 
All dimmable non-networked illumination sources are inoperative or always on (networked illumination functions correctly) BCM  ADDRESS all BCM  Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If all non-networked illumination sources are inoperative or always on after all BCM  Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been addressed, INSTALL a new BCM  .

The steering wheel switch(es) illumination is inoperative Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST C 
The IPC  illumination is inoperative/does not dim
  • Network communication concern
  • IPC 
The FCIM  illumination is inoperative/does not dim FCIM 
  • VERIFY that all FCIM  controls function correctly.
    • If all the FCIM  controls operate correctly, INSTALL a new FCIM  . Refer to the appropriate Information and Entertainment Systems article for the procedure.
    • If the audio system does not operate correctly, Refer to the appropriate Information and Entertainment Systems article for the procedure.
The FCDIM  illumination is inoperative/does not dim
  • Network communication concern
  • FCDIM 
The FDIM  illumination is inoperative/does not dim
  • APIM 
  • FDIM 
  • VERIFY that the audio system can be operated from the FDIM  .
    • If the audio system operates correctly from FDIM  inputs, refer to  APIM HARDWARE TESTING  . If the FDIM  illumination still does not function correctly after the repair, INSTALL a new FDIM  .

      Refer to: FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) (Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display) or Refer to: FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) (Vehicles With: Sony AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display).

    • If the audio system does not operate correctly from FDIM  inputs, Refer to the appropriate Information and Entertainment Systems article for the procedure.
The HVAC  illumination is inoperative/does not dim
  • Network communication concern
  • HVAC  module
The CD  slot illumination is inoperative or always on (with 8-inch [203 mm] touchscreen only) Refer to the PINPOINT TEST Go to PINPOINT TEST F
