Installation (Lower Intake Manifold)
- Clean all the sealing surfaces. Apply a drop of Silicone Gasket and Sealant at the four cylinder block-to-cylinder head seams. Use Silicone Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A4. See Fig 1.

- Install the lower intake manifold gaskets and end seals. Position the intake manifold gaskets. Position the intake manifold end seals. See Fig 2.

- Install the lower intake manifold. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages. See Fig 3. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

- Install the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. See Figure.
- Connect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
- On 2000 models, connect the heater hose, engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and the coolant temperature sender (CTS). See Figure.
- On 2001 models, connect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and the degas bottle hose. See Figure. Connect the heater hose and the coolant temperature sender (CTS). See Figure.
- On all models, install the fuel injection supply manifold and fuel injectors as an assembly. Install and tighten the four bolts. See Figure.
- Connect the engine control sensor wiring harness to the fuel injectors. See Figure.
- Connect the fuel pulse damper. Connect the vacuum tube. Connect the electrical connector. See Figure.
- Install both valve covers.
- Install the upper intake manifold. See Installation (Upper Intake Manifold: 2000 Model Year) and Installation (Upper Intake Manifold: 2001 Model Year) .
- Connect the fuel line. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. See SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING
