Installation (Upper Intake Manifold: 2000 Model Year)
- Clean all the sealing surfaces. Position a new intake manifold gasket.
- Position the upper intake manifold. Install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages. See Fig 1. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the engine degas hose, differential pressure feedback EGR electrical connector and position the wire harness retaining clip. See Figure.
- Connect the differential pressure feedback EGR vacuum hoses and install the oxygen sensor electrical connector retainer. See Figure.
- Connect the electrical connector and vacuum tube to the EVR and the vacuum tube to the intake manifold. See Figure.
- Connect the vacuum tube to the EGR valve. See Figure.
- Connect the EGR tube to the EGR valve. See Figure.
- Connect the PCV tube to the upper intake manifold. See Figure.
- Install the upper intake manifold support bracket. See Figure.
- Connect the IAC and TP sensor electrical connectors. See Figure.
- Connect the evaporative emissions return tube and the vacuum hose. See Figure.
- Position the accelerator cable bracket and install the bolts. See Figure. Tighten bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (17 N.m).
- Connect the accelerator control cable, speed control cable and the throttle return spring. See Figure.
- Install the snow shield. See Figure. Connect the intake throttle body heater hose. See Figure.
- Refill the engine coolant system. Install the air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube. Connect the battery ground cable.
CAUTION:
The upper intake manifold torque specification is NOT the same as the 2001 model year.
