Tube, Mechanism: Installation

NOTE:

The bowden/drive cables must be clean but must not be lubricated.

  1. Inspect the bowden/drive cables (1) to be certain they are clean.
  2. Position the mechanism tube (3) into the vehicle.
  3. With the help of an assistant, install the mechanism tube (3) by inserting the bowden/drive cables (1).
  4. Inserting the bowden/drive cables (1) until the mechanism tube fits flush to the guide (2).

  5. Install the fastener (2) into the mechanism tube mount (1).
  6. Tighten fastener (2) securely.
  7. Fasten the antenna connections (3) to the vehicle.
  8. Connect the wiring connectors (3) for the antenna.

  9. Install the fasteners (1) into the mechanism tube (2) and tighten securely.
  10. Repeat on the opposite side.

  11. Install the sunroof motor. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, INSTALLATION .

  12. Install the sunshade. Refer to SUNSHADE, SUNROOF, INSTALLATION .
  13. Close the sunroof and sunshade fully.
  14. Inspect the sunroof and sunshade for proper operation.
  15. If necessary, perform the sunshade initialization procedure. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  16. If necessary, perform the sunroof initialization procedure. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  17. Inspect the glass and sunshade for proper alignment, adjust if necessary. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
  18. Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, INSTALLATION .
