Sunshade, Sunroof: Installation

NOTE:

The bowden/drive cables must be clean and not lubricated.

  1. Carefully fit the bowden/drive cables (3) and slides (2) in the seats of the guides (3).
    NOTE:

    Take care not to damage the slides (2).

  2. Position the sunshade assembly (1) to the guides (3).
  3. Install the sunshade fasteners (1) securing the sunshade (2) to the sunroof frame. Tighten the fasteners securely
  4. Repeat on the opposite side.

    NOTE:

    When inserting the sunshade motor (1) be careful not to rotate it. This would cause the bowden/drive cables to move and the sunshade to be become misaligned during installation.

  5. Install the sunshade motor (1) by inserting it straight up, engaging the drive gear into the bowden/drive cables.
  6. Install the fasteners (3) into the sunshade motor (1) and tighten securely.
  7. Connect the sunshade motor electrical connector (2) to the sunshade motor (1).

  8. Connect the battery negative cable.
  9. Perform the sunshade initialization procedure. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  10. Inspect the sunshade for proper alignment, adjust if necessary. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
  11. Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, INSTALLATION .
