Carpet, Floor: Removal

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative 12-volt battery cable.
  3. Remove the front seats. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to COVER, SEAT CUSHION, REAR, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to SEAT BACK, REAR, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the cargo load floor. Refer to COVER, CARGO FLOOR, REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REAR, REMOVAL .

  8. Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the parking brake lever (5). Refer to LEVER, PARKING BRAKE, REMOVAL .

  10. Remove the instrument panel closeout panel fasteners (1).
  11. Remove the instrument panel closeout panel (2) from the vehicle.
  12. Remove the electronic shifter module. Refer to MODULE, ELECTRONIC SHIFTER (ESM), REMOVAL .

  13. Remove the four bolts (1) from the instrument panel to floor bracket (2).
  14. Remove the instrument panel to floor bracket (2).

  15. Remove the foam block (1) from around the shifter cable.
  16. Remove the foam block (2) from the front of the carpet.

  17. Remove the condensate drain tube (1) from the HVAC housing (3).

  18. Remove the ground wires from the stud (2).
  19. Disconnect the left side air bag module connector (1).

  20. Remove the accelerator pedal block (2).
  21. Remove the fastener (1) securing the carpet (3).
    NOTE:

    For installation purposes, take note of all vehicle harness routings in the carpet prior to removing.

  22. Remove the carpet (3) from the rear of the vehicle.
