Pedal(S), Brake And/Or Accelerator: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION . Refer to WARNING .

  1. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the lower steering column shroud. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, UPPER, REMOVAL .

  3. Remove the fasteners (2, 3) and the kick panel (1).

  4. Disengage the wire harness routing clip (3).
  5. Remove the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to SENSOR, BRAKE PEDAL, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the stop lamp switch. Refer to SWITCH, STOP LAMP, REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the accelerator pedal. Refer to PEDAL, ACCELERATOR, REMOVAL .

  8. Disengage the power brake booster push rod retainer tabs (1) and disengage the power brake booster push rod retainer (2) from the brake pedal.

  9. Remove the four power brake booster mounting nuts (1).
  10. Remove the pedal bracket mounting nuts (2).
  11. Remove the brake pedal and bracket assembly from vehicle.
  12. Remove the power brake booster push rod retainer and the power brake booster push rod cup from the power brake booster push rod, and DISCARD  the retainer and the cup.
