Adapter, Disc Brake Caliper: Removal: Front

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION . Refer to WARNING .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    CAUTION:

    Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.

  3. Remove the brake caliper from the brake caliper adapter, using a suitable device, support the disc brake caliper. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REAR, REMOVAL . Do not let the disc brake caliper hang by the brake hose.
  4. Remove the front brake pads. Refer to PADS, BRAKE, REAR, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove and DISCARD  the brake pad anti-rattle clips.

  6. Remove the disc brake caliper adapter mounting bolts (1).
  7. Remove the brake caliper adapter.
