Pads, Brake, Rear: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION . Refer to WARNING .

  1. Place the Electric Park Brake (EPB) in maintenance mode. Refer to PARKING BRAKE, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

  4. Disengage the brake pad wear sensor wire harness from the wire harness routing clip (1).

  5. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor connector (2) and remove the connector from the bracket and routing clip.
  6. Remove two disc brake caliper guide pin bolts (1).
  7. Remove the brake caliper. Using a suitable device, support the disc brake caliper. Do not let the disc brake caliper hang by the brake hose.

  8. Remove the inboard brake pad (1) and the outboard brake pad (2) from the caliper adapter bracket.
  9. Remove and DISCARD  the brake pad clips (3).
