6.2L Supercharged

WARNING:

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery before removing the battery output wire (B+ wire) from the generator. Failure to do so can result in injury or damage to the electrical system.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the serpentine belt (1). Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the Supercharger belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, DRIVE BELT, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the right front splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the protective cap from the B+ output terminal and remove the fastener that secures the B+ cable.
  6. Disconnect the field wire connector (3) at the rear of the generator by pushing on the connector tab.
  7. Remove the fastener securing the ground wire to the stud on the generator.
  8. Remove the lower fastener (1) and (2) that secure the generator.
  9. Loosen the fastener securing the rear brace to the engine mount.
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the fastener securing the coolant lines to the PCM bracket and set the lines aside.
  12. Remove the upper fastener (1). Position the coolant hoses aside and remove the generator from the vehicle.
