Shifter - Instrument Panel Mount

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the Knee AirBag (KAB). Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the steering column shroud gap hider screw (1).

  6. Disconnect the gearshift lever electrical connector (1).

  7. Remove the gearshift lever screw (1) and pull the gearshift lever out of the shifter assembly.
    NOTE:

    The gearshift lever will remain in the vehicle.

  8. Disconnect the gearshift cable end (1) from the shifter assembly, pull the gearshift cable bracket lock (2) outward and remove the gearshift cable from the shifter assembly bracket (3).

  9. Detach the wiring harness push pin (1) from the shifter assembly.

  10. Remove the shifter assembly nuts (1).

  11. Remove the shifter assembly screw (1).

  12. Position the shifter assembly (1) so the electrical connector (2) is accessible.
  13. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) and remove the shifter assembly (1) from the vehicle.
