Shifter - Instrument Panel Mount

- Position the shifter assembly (1) in the vehicle, connect the electrical connector (2) and position the shifter assembly in place on the instrument panel.
- Install the shifter assembly screw (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the shifter assembly nuts (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Attach the wiring harness push pin (1) into the shifter assembly.
- Reconnect the gearshift cable to the gearshift cable bracket (1).
- Lock the gearshift cable bracket lock (2).
- Reconnect the gearshift cable (3) to the ball stud.
- Install the gearshift lever into the shifter assembly and install the gearshift lever screw (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the gearshift lever electrical connector (1).
- Install the steering column shroud gap hider screw (1).
- Install the Knee AirBag (KAB). Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .
- Install the instrument panel bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, INSTALLATION .
- Verify the transmission shifts in and out of PARK, and starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only. If necessary, adjust the gearshift cable. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .
