Removal And Installation

REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Disable and remove the driver's side airbag. Refer to AIR BAG, DRIVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the steering wheel wire harness connectors (1).
- If equipped, disconnect the heated steering wheel wire harness connectors.
- Remove and DISCARD the steering wheel bolt (2), and retain the damper if equipped.
- Remove the steering wheel.
- Remove the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) switch. Refer to SWITCH, EVIC CONTROL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the remote radio switches. Refer to SWITCH, REMOTE RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- If equipped, disconnect the heated steering wheel wire harness connectors and remove the steering wheel wire harness.
INSTALLATION
- If equipped, connect the heated steering wheel wire harness connectors and secure the steering wheel wire harness.
- Install the remote radio switches. Refer to SWITCH, REMOTE RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) switch. Refer to SWITCH, EVIC CONTROL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering wheel to the steering column.
- If equipped, position the damper to the steering wheel, then install a NEW steering wheel bolt (2) and tighten the nut to the proper torque specifications. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the two steering wheel wire harness connector (1).
- Install the driver's side air bag. Refer to AIR BAG, DRIVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
