Removal And Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 RAM 3500 HD and 2019 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
  2. Remove the upper steering column shroud. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the multifunction switch wire harness electrical connector (1).
  5. Press and release the tab (3) then lift up and remove the multifunction switch (2) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install multifunction switch and press down until the tab latches.
  2. Connect the multifunction switch wire harness electrical connector.
  3. Install the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the upper steering column shroud. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
