Cable-Mode Door: Installation

  1. Position the mode control cable (4) to the right side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3).
  2. Connect the mode control cable to the mode door lever (2).
  3. Install the screw (1) that secures the mode control cable to the air distribution housing. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).

  4. Engage the top of the mode door linkage cover (4) to the right side of the air distribution housing (1).
  5. Install the screw (3) that secures the mode door linkage cover and the right floor distribution duct (2) to the air distribution housing. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).

  6. Reach through the glove box opening and engage the two retainers (4) that secure the instrument panel wire harness (5) to the instrument panel support (1).
  7. Position the glove box damper (3) to the instrument panel support and install the two retaining screws (2). Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).
  8. Install the glove box, (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/BIN-GLOVE BOX - INSTALLATION) .
  9. Install the passenger side instrument panel silencer, (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/SILENCER-INSTRUMENT PANEL - INSTALLATION) .
  10. Connect the mode door control cable to the A/C-heater control and install the instrument panel center bezel, (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/BEZEL-CENTER - INSTALLATION) .
  11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
