Section 15 (2.7L Engine (Service Information)): Pump-Oil: Removal

- Remove crankshaft vibration damper (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - REMOVAL) .
- Remove timing chain cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT / CHAIN COVER(S) - REMOVAL ).
- Remove timing chain and sprockets (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - REMOVAL) .
- Remove oil pan (Refer to ENGINE/LUBRICATION/OIL PAN - REMOVAL) .
- Remove oil pick-up tube (3) and O-ring (2).
- Ensure that crankshaft position is at 60° ATDC of No. 1 cylinder, or crankshaft sprocket mark aligns with mark on oil pump (1). This position will properly locate oil pump upon installation.
- Remove oil pump attaching bolts (1).
- Remove oil pump (5).
