Test Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, erase BCM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch of, then on. Start engine and allow to idle. Turn blower switch to low setting. Place temperature control switch to full heat for 30 seconds, then full cold for 30 seconds, then back to full heat for 30 seconds. Using scan tool, read BCM DTCs. If scan tool displays BLEND DOOR STALL TEST FAILURE, go to next step. If BLEND DOOR STALL TEST FAILURE does not appear in scan tool display, go to step 11.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect in-line C200 harness connector located behind dash, above accelerator pedal. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Measure resistance between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure. If reading is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Red wire, between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 25, through in-line C200 connector terminal No. 3, to blend door actuator connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure. Using a test light connected to battery, probe BCM C2 connector terminal No. 25 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Dark Blue/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Remove jumper wire. Measure resistance between ground and BCM C2 connector terminal No. 15 (Dark Blue/White wire). See Figure. If reading is 100 ohms or more, go to next step. If reading is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue/White wire). See Figure. Using a test light connected to battery, probe BCM C2 connector terminal No. 15 (Dark Blue/White wire). See Figure. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Remove jumper wire from previous step. Connect BCM C2 connector. Connect a test light between in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue/White wire) and terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure. Start engine and allow to idle. Using scan tool, select BODY, then BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TESTS, and enter ACTUATE MODE DOORS. Select and actuate BLEND DOOR several times, while observing test light. If test light illuminates when actuating blend door in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when actuating blend door in either direction, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Turn engine off. Disconnect blend door actuator connector. Measure resistance between ground and in-line C200 connector (HVAC control panel side) terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/Red wire). If reading is 100 ohms or more, go to next step. If reading is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and in-line C200 connector (HVAC control panel side) terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure. Using a test light connected to battery, probe blend door actuator connector Dark Blue/Red wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Dark Blue/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Remove jumper wire from previous step. Measure resistance between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 15 (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure.
1 (Dark Blue/White wire). See Figure. Using a test light connected to battery, probe blend door actuator harness connector Dark Blue/White wire terminal. If test light illuminates, replace blend door actuator. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 12.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Visually inspect related wiring harness, connectors and components. Check for damaged or chafed wiring, damaged or broken connectors and/or components. Check for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) from manufacturer that may apply. Repair any faulty condition found as necessary. After repair, go to next step. If no faults are found, test is complete.
- After repair is complete, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
