Test Procedure

  1. Using scan tool, read and record BCM DTCs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect HVAC control panel C1 connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage of temperature select circuit between ground and HVAC control panel C1 connector terminal No. 8 (Yellow/Orange wire). See Figure. If reading is greater than 0.3 volt, go to next step. If reading is 0.3 volt or less, replace HVAC control panel. After repair is complete, go to step  3.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DVOM, check for voltage between ground and HVAC control panel C1 connector terminal No. 8 (Yellow/Orange wire). See Figure. If voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage does not exist, replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair is complete, go to next step.
  3. After repair is completed, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS  under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
