Test Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, erase BCM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. Start engine and allow to idle. Using scan tool, select MISCELLANEOUS, then actuate CALIBRATE HVAC DOOR MOTORS. After calibration is complete, read and record BCM DTCs. Go to next step.
- If blend/mode door feedback failure DTC is set with additional DTCs, diagnose and repair additional DTCs present prior to performing this procedure. If MODE DOOR FEEDBACK FAILURE and BLEND DOOR FEEDBACK FAILURE are the only DTCs set, go to next step. If BLEND DOOR FEEDBACK FAILURE is the only DTC set, go to step 12.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect in-line C200 harness connector located in center of instrument panel, above accelerator pedal. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage of 5-volt supply circuit. Using DVOM, check between ground and of in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 6 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). See Fig 2. If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is about 4.5-5.5 volts, go to step 7. If reading is 5.5 volts or more, go to step 11.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Measure resistance between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 6 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). See Fig 2. If reading is 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If reading is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Dark Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Measure resistance of Pink/Dark Blue wire between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 6. See Fig 1 and Fig 2
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Pink/Dark Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.

- Measure resistance between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Dark Blue wire) and BCM C2 connector terminal No. 10 (Dark Blue/Gray wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short between Pink/Dark Blue wire and Dark Blue/Gray wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, replace and program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair, go to step 21.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect mode door actuator connector. Connect in-line C200 connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage at Pink/Dark Blue wire terminal of mode actuator connector. If reading was 4.5-5.5 volts, replace mode door actuator. If reading was zero volts, go to next step. If reading was 5.5 volts or more, go to step 11.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect blend door actuator connector. See Fig 3. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Measure resistance between ground and BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). See Fig 1. If reading is 10 k/ohms ohms or more, go to next step. If reading is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Dark Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.

- Measure resistance of Pink/Dark Blue wire between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 and Pink/Dark Blue wire terminals at blend door actuator connector and mode door actuator connector. See Fig 1. If reading is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Dark Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Measure resistance between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Dark Blue wire) and terminal No. 10 (Dark Blue/Gray wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short between Pink/Dark Blue wire and Dark Blue/Gray wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, replace blend door actuator. After repair, go to step 21.
- Connect mode door actuator and blend door actuator harness connector. Leave BCM C2 connector disconnected. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage at BCM C2 connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Dark Blue wire). See Fig 1. If voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Pink/Dark Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage does not exist, replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair, go to step 21.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect any previously disconnected components or connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool in SENSOR DISPLAY, read BLEND DOOR voltage value. If reading is 0.3-5.5 volts, go to next step. If reading is less than 0.3 volts, go to step 16. If reading is 5.5 volts or more, go to step 20.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect in-line C200 harness connector (located in center of instrument panel, above accelerator pedal). Turn off all lights. Connect DVOM to measure resistance, between ground and in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/Gray wire). See Fig 2. Close driver's door and ensure all courtesy lighting is off. Wait 2 minutes. If reading is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If reading is 10 k/ohms or more, go to step 15.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect blend door actuator connector. Measure resistance between of in-line C200 connector (HVAC side) terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/Gray wire) and blend door harness connector Dark Blue/Gray wire terminal. See Fig 2. If reading is less than 5 ohms, replace blend door actuator. If reading 5 ohms or more, repair open Dark Blue/Gray wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Disconnect blend door actuator connector. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Measure resistance of Dark Blue/Gray wire between in-line C200 connector (BCM side) terminal No. 5 and BCM C2 connector terminal No. 10. See Fig 1 and Fig 2
. If reading is less than 5 ohms, replace and program BCM. If reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Blue/Gray wire between in-line C200 (BCM side) and BCM C2 connectors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Connect in-line C200 connector. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect blend door actuator connector. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Connect in-line harness C200 connector. Measure resistance between ground and BCM C2 connector terminal No. 8 (Red/White wire). See Fig 1. If reading is 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Measure resistance of Red/White wire between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 8 and blend door actuator connector Red/White wire terminal. See Fig 1. If reading is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Measure resistance between BCM C2 connector terminal No. 8 (Red/White wire) and terminal No. 10 (Dark Blue/Gray wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short between Red/White wire and Dark Blue/Gray wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 21.
- Connect BCM C2 connector. Connect a jumper wire between blend door actuator harness connector Red/White wire and Pink/Dark Blue wire terminals. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read BLEND DOOR voltage value. If value is about 4.5-5.5 volts, replace blend door actuator. If value is not between 4.5-5.5 volts, replace and program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair, go to step 21.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM C2 connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DVOM, check for voltage at BCM C2 connector terminal No. 8 (Red/White wire). See Fig 1. If voltage is present, repair short to voltage in blend door feedback signal circuit (Red/White wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage does not exist, replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair, go to next step.
- After repair is complete, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
