Test Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read BCM DTCs. If scan tool displays any additional DTCs, go to appropriate procedure for DTCs displayed. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If A/C HEAD, EBL SWITCH STUCK remains as only DTC, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, monitor A/C EBL voltage value, while depressing and releasing rear window defogger switch several times. If voltage decreases when depressed, then increases when released, go to next step. If voltage does not decrease and increase as stated, replace HVAC control panel. After repairs, go to step 4.
- Using scan tool, erase BCM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. Using scan tool, read BCM DTCs. If scan tool displays A/C HEAD, EBL SWITCH STUCK, replace and program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If A/C HEAD, EBL SWITCH STUCK is not displayed, test is complete. After repair, go to next step.
- After repair is complete, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
