Test Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read, record and erase BCM DTCs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect HVAC control panel C1 harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage in A/C switch sense circuit, between ground and HVAC control panel C1 connector terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/Orange wire). See Fig 1. If reading is 10 volts or more, go to step 3. If reading is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM C2 harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and HVAC control panel C1 connector terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/Orange wire). See Fig 1. If voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Dark Blue/Orange wire between HVAC control panel C1 and BCM C2 harness connectors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage does not exist, replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair, go to step 4.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect HVAC control panel C1 connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read, record and erase BCM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. If scan tool displays A/C HEAD, EBL INPUT SHORTED TO BATT, replace HVAC control panel. If A/C HEAD, EBL INPUT SHORTED TO BATT is not displayed, check for an intermittent short to voltage in related wiring harnesses and connectors. Repair any intermittent fault as necessary. After repair, go to next step.
- After repair is completed, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
