Test Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read, record and erase BCM DTCs. Ensure rear window defogger is turned off. Place mode selector switch at HVAC control panel into bi-level/recirculation position. Start engine and allow to idle. Monitor A/C EBL switch and MODE switch values on scan tool display. Place mode selector switch in specified position and read both switch values displayed. See SELECTOR SWITCH VALUES table. If scan tool displays values that are approximately the value specified for each mode selector switch position, go to next step. If any value displayed on scan tool does not match specified values, replace HVAC control panel. After repair is complete, go to step 3.
- Turn engine off. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. Start engine and allow to idle. Monitor scan tool for DTC/fault messages while slowly turning mode selector switch through all positions, several times. If scan tool displays A/C HEAD, A/C SWITCH FAILURE as DTC/fault message, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repair is complete, go to next step. If scan tool does not display A/C HEAD, A/C SWITCH FAILURE fault messages, test is complete.
- After repair is complete, perform calibration test. See CALIBRATION TEST - HVAC DOOR MOTORS under ADJUSTMENTS. Perform verification test. See BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
