Test 25A: Right SIACM, Seat Squib Circuit Open (Active Code)

NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST after all repairs unless otherwise directed.

Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove right front seat back cover and reposition seat back cushion material to access seat air bag module connector. Disconnect right side air bag module connector. Connect SRS Load Tool (8310) Brown cable and appropriate jumper to harness side of right side air bag connector. Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect negative battery cable. Read right SIACM DTCs. If DRB displays RIGHT SEAT SQUIB CIRCUIT OPEN, go to next step. If DRB does not display RIGHT SEAT SQUIB CIRCUIT OPEN, replace right side air bag module. See SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least 2 minutes. Access and disconnect right SIACM connector. See SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE (SIACM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect SRS Load Tool (8310) passenger cable and appropriate jumper to right SIACM connector. Measure resistance between right SIACM connector terminal No. 3 and right side air bag module connector terminal No. 1 (Light Blue-Orange wire). See Figure & Figure . If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in right seat squib Light Blue-Orange wire.
Measure resistance between right SIACM connector terminal No. 4 and right side air bag module connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Light Blue-White wire). If resistance is less than one ohm and no other malfunctions are detected, replace right side impact air bag control module. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open or high resistance in right seat squib Light Blue-White wire.
