Test 47B - Back-Up Light Malfunction
NOTE:
Perform TEST 47A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Move shift selector to "P" position. Disconnect back-up light relay. If back-up lights did not turn off, repair back-up light sense circuit for short to voltage. If back-up light did turn off, go to next step.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between relay terminals No. 30 and 87. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, replace relay. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Install back-up light relay. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector. Turn ignition on. If back-up lights are off, go to next step. If back-up lights are on, repair back-up light relay control circuit for short to ground.
- Use scan tool in ohmmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure resistance at terminal No. 41 on TCM connector. On all other models, measure resistance at terminal No. 1 on TCM connector. On all models, if resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair transmission range switch T1 sense circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, replace TCM.
