Test 7A - Relay Output Always On (DTC 14)
NOTE:
Perform TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect transmission control relay. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read SWITCHED BATTERY voltage. If voltage is more than 3 volts, go to TEST 7B . If voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step.
- Disconnect transmission solenoid pack. Using scan tool, read SWITCHED BATTERY voltage. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair trans control relay output circuit for short to battery voltage. See Figure . If voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect TCM connector. Turn ignition on. Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 2 of solenoid pack harness connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 1 of solenoid pack harness connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair 2-4 pressure switch sense circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 1 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 2 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair L-R pressure switch sense circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 5 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 3 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair OD pressure switch sense circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 7 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 5 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair UD solenoid control circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 8 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 6 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair OD solenoid control circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 4 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 7 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair L-R solenoid control circuit for short to battery voltage.
- Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. On F24S and FJ22 models, measure voltage at terminal No. 3 on solenoid pack connector. On all other models, measure voltage at terminal No. 8 on solenoid pack connector. On all models, if voltage is 3 volts or less, replace TCM. If voltage is more than 3 volts, repair 2-4 solenoid control circuit for short to battery voltage.
