Installation Procedure

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel assembly (1) in the vehicle.

  2. Reposition the instrument panel wiring harness into the vehicle position as was noted in the removal and connect the fasteners securing the instrument panel wiring harness to the instrument panel assembly (1).

    Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    Wiring Harness Connector (1) - Install [2x]

    NOTE:

    Retainer (1) - Install [7x]

  6. Connect the electrical connector and install the wiring harness retainers as necessary. (2)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications 

  8. Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Striker Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  9. Retainer (3) - Install
  10. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  21. Forward Collision Alert Display Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connector.

  24. Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch (1) @ Turn Signal Switch Bracket - Install
  25. Secure the retaining tabs.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  27. Turn Signal Switch (1) @ Turn Signal Switch Bracket - Install

    Steering Wheel (2) - Install

  30. Connect the electrical connector.
  31. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (except GMNA) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (GMNA)
  32. Steering Wheel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connector.

  34. Install any connector position assurance (CPA) devices or secondary locks.
  35. Steering Wheel Airbag (2) - Install
  36. Steering Wheel Airbag Bolt (1) Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the 2 steering wheel airbag access hole covers (1).

    Secure the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover in the opposite direction of the arrow.

  94. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  95. Align the retainer clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding (1) into place.
  96. Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install
  97. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.
  98. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
